This bachelor thesis deals with biotechnological methods of cattle reproduction. It is a research from academic articles and literature. In the beginning of this thesis, basic information about reproduction, insemination, and its history is described. The history is followed by a description and explanation of individual methods of searching for heat in cattle. Furthermore, this thesis describes various methods of cattle insemination and the use of embryo transfer, which is compared with the insemination itself. Subsequently, methods of gravidity detection and their use are summarised and described. Finally, the information about the insemination of cattle is summarised.
Use of insemination in beef cattle herds
JANIŠ, Marek
This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the use of insemination in a selected herd of beef cattle. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis characterizes the concepts related to the topic. It describes the anatomy and physiology of the cow, insemination and methods, genomics and current and future trends in the field of insemination. The practical part interprets and evaluates the results of the analysis, which are based on the cow's passport cards and the record of the performance check.
Aspekty spermatologického vyšetření nativního bovinního ejakulátu
Weberová, Gabriela
In this bachelor thesis was described the reproductive system of a bull, hormonal regulation, sperm production and sperm, was also focused on the collection and sampling methods ejaculate. Work dealt with of studies of morphologically abnormal sperm and their influence on the fertility of bulls. At morphological defects been described primary and secondarily changed spermatozoa. Examination of native ejaculate was divided into microscopical, microbiological and special. At the end of this bachelor thesis was given the chapter on automated scoring systems ejaculates. Of those systems been described system for evaluating ejaculate CASA and flow cytometry.
Úspěšnost inseminace klisen ve vztahu k době ovulace
VACEK, David
Mare rate of conception is influenced by many factors. Apart from the impact of the mare and the stallion, the breeder also represents one of these factors. The aim of this master's thesis is to assess the impact of the insemination dose storage, the period between the insemination and ovulation and the mare's age on the actual conception. The results are based on the assessment of forty-nine Czech Warmblood mares from the farms of Újezd and Zduchovice. Their conception rate was monitored throughout the years 2019 and the assessed affecting factors include the kind of semen storage (frozen or fresh chilled semen), the mare's age and the period between ovulation and insemination. The initial assumption that the sort of semen storage (p-value > 0.05) influences the rate of conception has been disproven because the conception rate for frozen semen was 52 % and it increased only by 6 %, amounting to 58 % in total for fresh chilled semen. As far as the age factor is concerned, there was almost no difference (p-value > 0.05) in the ages of gravid and non-gravid mares that were supposed to conceive during their first rut. The average age of pregnant mares is 10 (n = 19), therefore only one year more in comparison with non-pregnant mares (9 year, n = 30). The influence of the period between the insemination and the ovulation on the conception rate has not been proven either. While being monitored, no period between the insemination and ovulation exceeded the recommended length. In conclusion, the breeder can lessen the impact of harmful factors on the conception rate, for example the mare's age, the period between insemination and ovulation and the kind of semen storage.
Analýza stáda dojnic ve vybraném chovu pomocí software AfiFarm
Šiklová, Veronika
The aim of bachelor thesis Analyse of beef cattle in chosen breeding by software Afifarm was to evaluate usage, available information about a herd and reliability of software AfiFarm in the farm Agromeran a. s. Trhonice. The literature section includes characteristic of Czech Fleckvieh cattle and Holstein cattle because these breeds are kept in the farm. Further, it is focused on reproduction, fertility, a rut, insemination and milking program AfiFarm. The practical section includes the description of the observed farm, a summary and an evaluation of gained information from the software AfiFarm. Next, it was carried out observation of a software success in detection of a heat. It was carried out during November, December 2016 and January 2017. Finally, the bachelor thesis shows the evaluation of the obtained information. The average daily milk production was 18,1 kg per cow and total milk production was 2 383 603 kg in 2016.The service period was 118 days, the intervening period was 387 days and days in milk was 331. Next result was toshow a percentage assessment of suc-cessful and unsuccessful detection of the heat. The average success of detection of the heat was 84, 86 % while false alarm was 15,13 %.
Metody reprodukce využitelné v chovu masného skotu
Střecha, Filip
This thesis entitled "reproduction methods usable in breed of beef cattle" describes the most commonly used reproductive techniques at herds of beef cattle. Breeders implement the bovine reproduction mostly through natural breeding and insemination. The first part of this thesis is devoted to the breeding of bulls, their selection and bonitation. Further, the effect of a bull in a herd is introduced, its classification and the main principles of bull breeding. In the second part the thesis deals insemination. It describes the creation of an insemination dose, its consequent long-term storage and the insemination of cows. The possibilities of influencing the gender and correct timing of insemination are have briefly summarized. The third section introduces the technique of embryo transfer. It describes a stimulation of superovulation, preparation of donors and recipients, flushing of embryos, long-term preservation of embryos and their subsequent transfer. In the fourth section bull catalogues of the Czech Republic, France and Ireland are compared. The individual parts of the cataloques and differences between them are described there. The last part is the assessment of the individual reproductive indicators published in the Czech Republic. The six largest breeds is compared here, and in some consideration beef cattle is compared across all breeds. We evaluates the length of the interim period with respect to the age of a cow, its age at first calving, the percentage of live born of calves and the part of various systems used during ensuring the the reproduction in the herd.
Reprodukce v chovu holštýnského plemene skotu
Klimešová, Michaela
This bachelor thesis discusses reproduction of Holstein cattle. It deals with reproductive characteristics of the breed. In the first part it summarizes the basic morphological and physiological characteristics of female and male of Holstein cattle. The thesis deals with the most fundamental and nowadays even the most commonly used methods of heat detection. The second part deals with the selection of appropriate technology for successful insemination conception of dairy cows and heifers. We demonstrate the success of artificial insemination methods to detect pregnancy which are also summarized and described. In the third part of the thesis deals with the birth cow. The birth also includes the development of the foetus and treatment of the calf after the birth. For successful herd management is necessary to know the main indicators of reproductive properties which are also included in this study. Holstein cattle is very sensitive to changes in nutrition, but also changes in climatic conditions and this has resulted in lot of health problems which are reflected primarily in reproduction.
